Recently there has been some discussion in response to a request
for paint codes for a maroon colour that was popular on TR6's.
The posts I have seen (I get the digest) seem to be centering
around the Carmine colour. While this may be the colour that the
person wanted [I forget who it was:o(], it should be pointed out
that Carmine is a dark shade of red.
There was a very dark shade of maroon that was used on both
Spitfires and TR6's (maybe Stags too?). That maroon colour was
called Damson and the Triumph paint code on the commission plate
for it was 17. It is very attractive in conjunction with the tan
interior.
