Yeah, plus it gives you a chance to practice the old `bootlegger' quick
U-turn.

I've heard stories of A-model Fords doing U-turns inside covered bridges,
using the handbrake technique.  Now, they might be exaggerating just a
bit, but it does work, back when I was young & foolish (well, younger,
anyway) I demonstrated it in my '69 Spitfire to my best buddy, who was
not impressed at the time but who learned to like it and practice such
maneuvers for when he might need them in emergency situations.

I still have a hard time passing up big, empty, lightly snow-covered
parking lots, especially those w/o light poles...good practice areas !
