Good Morning Listers...

My recently acquired 1974 TR6 came with the original alternator in pieces in
a box and an unidentifiable alternator installed. The installed alternator is
entirely crinkle finish black with no identifying numbers or markings. As
this alternator can't handle the cars electrical needs (silly ones, like
lights at night and wipers in the rain) I wish to replace it soon.

Ideally I'd like to put a Lucas back in, but would also consider an
alternate. What is the most direct bolt-in, readily available alternator
which requires the least amount of mods to the wire connector? I'm just
looking for a recommended alternator and a brief description of the
neccessary mods to connect it so I can consider this option. I've got to get
the car ready for the 6-Pack Trials in early October and the alternator tops
the list.

Thanks,

Kerry Fores
