IMHO I would suggest that the Piggott book is essential for your 
library. Although it's a little thin on the US spec and dealer 
accessories it is THE AUTHORITY on commission numbers, colors, and 
factory options. As far as I know it is pretty much correct as to how 
the cars were when they left the factory. One local wrecking yard guy 
I know has ALL of Piggott's "Original..." books (MG, Triumph, Morgan, 
etc.) on his shelf behind his desk. 

If you, or anyone else knows of a definitive book on the US spec and
accessory stuff that goes back at least to the TR4A let me know... 

I think maybe the TR6 folks dont like Piggott so much because he 
pretty much dimisses the "North American spec" 6 cyl. cars. These 
same folks suffer from extreme "PI" envy when drooling over UK spec 
TR's.... they hate being reminded that the "NA" sixes had no more 
power than the TR4A... :>0... let the flames begin... heh, heh....
