Hi,
I would desperately like to own, and drive, a GT6. My parents owned one
when I was young and I've haven't quite got rid of the bug! The problem
is my age - 24. Can anyone help me with tips getting insurance that's not
through the roof? I did ask how much insurance would be for my mums MGB
GT and they quoted 800ukp for 2 weeks!!! (that was 2 years ago though).
Would limited mileage help, can club membership cut the costs also. Or
do I just have to wait another 2 years (26 seems to be the lower age limit
on insurance), by which time running classics could be made too expensive
by the government?
I'm currently 24, no convictions, no points, 2 years no claims (with
direct line) and I'm driving a Rover Cooper at the moment and I live in
Surrey, UK. I also used to work in an MG specialist and would carry out
all servicing myself. I think I read somewhere of some insurance
companies taking this sort of thing into account. I'm planning to race
the Cooper at the beginning of next year so it will be not road legal, and
I'll need a new car.
   Help appreciated.

Thanks
Doug
