Am I missing something here? The TR6 had a 4 speed with electric O/D but
not a "true" 5 speed, although I think some of the Datsun 5 speeds will
fit with an adapter plate.
If you are looking to put a J-type O/D (post '73 for TR6) into a TR4A, I
am pretty sure that there are some mounting differences on the frame.
An A-type, is both stronger than the J-type, and will fit in without
modification.
