Looking at options for a header manifold for my TR6 PI ('74, but now 150bhp
spec). Both Rimmers and TriumphTune sell them, but at very different prices
- 140pds for Rimmers or 280pds for TriumphTune's top-line model. The
catalogues don't provide much detail regarding specs, performance, etc.
Anyone got any comment on the differences between them, or any experiences
or recommendations on either of these?
Incidentally, I'm not tied to Rimmers or TriumphTune but I'd prefer to buy
from the UK because headers designed there will have been based on
injection systems.
Second question on the exhaust system to use with headers. Local exhaust
specialist says twin pipes off a six cylinder with headers loses 30-40hp
when compared to a single pipe system. Now I'd like to keep the sound and
original appearance of twin exhaust and am prepared to sacrifice a small
amount of HP for it, but not this much! I'm sure someone has an opinion on
this...
