I don't imagine it would be that hard to do, it you were to settle for still cameras. Do you remember those 120 or 110 size cameras, not the two and a quarter square, the miniature ones. You could adapt them to be triggered by a solenoid, and set off a flash tube at the same time. Connect the solenoid to an impact sensor/remote trigger and you will have a good security system.
