Listers,

I don't know about you, but I cannot imagine life without duct tape. A
roll in every trunk (or boot)! Heck I even have a small roll in the
little tool bags on my bicycles!

However (seriously), I did read an article in the newspaper recently
that scientists (seriously) finally got around to testing the
"all-purpose emergency repair tool" under carefull controlled laboratory
conditions and (seriously), concluded it is the WORST product to use to
seal your ducts! (Seriously!) Keep this in mind the next time you
install a forced air furnace in your house, or whatever. (I keep saying
"seriously", because I am afraid you won't believe me and this really is
the truth! I have your best interests at heart. I'll bet the research
was done under a covernment grant, too. But, hey, we taxpayers have paid
about $100,000 per page for the Starr report, so far!) ;-)
