Mike,
I do not believe the cable is secured Anywhere between the transmission and its
entrance into the fire wall to get to the speedo.
I have an OD TR6 transmission on my 66 4A. I can tell you all
about that one, but your route will differ, except that the cable is not
retained in position anywhere along its path...

Subject: Speedometer cable location
I am reinstalling my speedometer cable and can't seem to figure where it is
secured between the transmission takeoff and the fire wall. Does anyone have
a very original TR4A that could describe how the cable is routed in the car.
Is it mounted to the frame or go thru the frame at any point ? Are there any
special mounts along the way ? Thanks in advance as I am getting closer every
day to seeing if this 3 year project will start.
