Listers, Drove my GT6 to work twice this week, and now it has a very
noticeable "whapping" in 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Sounds good in 4th, so far. It
has a frequency of from about 3 to 20 Hz, increasing with engine speed. So
now it's parked for the rest of BritCarWeek!!#@**# (expletive deleted).
Question: What in the tranny might be associated with just the lower 3
gears? It has fresh 80w-90 Valvoline gear oil. D-type OD. Sound seems to
come from the main section of the tranny. I've never done tranny work, but
it looks like I'm about to. Any insight is appreciated.
