Paul,
FWIW, when I went to paint the wires on my '61 TR3A, I called British Wire
Wheel and asked them what color they used when they rebuild their wheels. They
use a Dupont Centari acrylic enamel - the color is 'Astral Silver'. It's a
Mercedes color, but when I sprayed my wheels, the color seemed to be just the
right blend of silver and gray. If my memory serves me correctly, it's very
similar to the wheel color on the '59 TR3A I owned when I was in collage (many
years ago). Those wires came with the car from the factory. BTW, don't order
the spray cans from British Wire Wheel. I did this at first, and what I got
was a spray can of silver paint from OSH hardware store - very ugly!
