Hi all,

The TR7 SPIDER (not SPYDER) was a limited edition TR7 Drophead produced in the
1980 model year for No. America. Approx. 1400 were produced of which 400 were
equipped with Bosch L-Jetronic Fuel Injection for the California market. The
SPIDERs were all equipped the same. 5-speed gearbox, A/C, TR8 style alloy
wheels (painted a slightly different color from TR8 wheels) TR8 leather
steering wheel, AM/FM cassette stereo. The exterior was black with reflective
red parallel thin tape stripes that ran from the nose and wrapped around the
back and back to the nose just below the top body crease. There were also
"SPIDER" logos on either flank just forward of the rear wheels as well as on
the trunk lid. The TRIUMPH wreath on the node was also red. The interior
featured unique (and now unavailable) seat covers with vertical stripes in
black and shades of grey. The door panels were black, the carpeting pewter
grey. The dash trim was in a dark charcoal grey.

As to value, some say the Spider is the most valuable of the TR7s. I would say
a SPIDER would be worth approx. 10% more than a standard TR7 drophead in the
same condition. I bought mine 4 years ago from the original owner with 26k
miles on the clock, in excellent original condition for $2600. It needed some
minor maintenance, a new top and new tires (not worn, just rock hard).

Cheers,
