Hello all,

I'm in the middle of my first clutch replacement. When I was ordering parts,
one of the catalogues mentioned that the standard clutch fork pins were
vulnerable to cracking, and they recommended a high-strength replacement, which
I ordered. When removing the old one today, it was cracked with the stem still
stuck inside.

I've spent the last hour searching for online advice, and I did find the
article on the VTR site which recommends cutting the cross shaft with a hack
saw or drilling a hole in the fork 180 degrees opposite the pin and forcing the
stem out with a pin punch.

There is just a little play right now between the fork and shaft. I've been
wiggling and shaking the two hoping the tapered stem might drop out. Being
totally new to this, this might be total fantasy.

Anyway, before I start sawing or drilling, I thought I might appeal to the list
for any pearls of wisdom.

Thanks in advance,
