Thanks to advice from listers, the rebuild of CR00364-0 continues.
Winder mechanisms etc now on the bench.
Renewal of glass channels more complicated
than expected. Correct rivets to attach brackets to new channels could not
be located, but I made some from 6BA set screws
(heads filed down).
Removal brought to light rust in top corners of doors. This has been cleaned
up and treated with Dinitrol 3125 -
by far the most effective rust treatment I have used. Next job is a
wrestling match with the glass, seating rubber and
window winder channel. DPO (?) fitted non spec rubber
which seems to have been glued to both glass and channel.
Note for UK listers - my car was first registered April 1973.
A trace with BMIHT revealed a build date of 14 Dec 1972.
Early 1973 registrations and TR6 Comm Nos prior to 650 are worth checking -
I was initially caught out by the final '0' in the number. Car now
re-classified as Historic by DVLC.
