Well,Bandre, fist off check the distributor timing dynamically for
timing creep caused by weak bob weight
springs, secondly for the spring loaded pop valves on the throttle blade
(Closed throttle over-run air bleed)
Personally I solder them shut.Post again if still a problem.  DK  DKV
