    after cleaning my trailing arms up with a wire brush attachment on a
drill, i wiped them down with a solvent to remove any grease and then
painted them with Dupli-Color spray paint (available at wal-mart, about $2)
and they look great! the color i used is #1650, cast coat aluminum.
    since my car isn't running yet, i can't speak to how long the paint will
last, but the arms sure look nice sitting in my garage.
