Thanks as always to those that responded, I tend to agree with most of the
advice. I did think about drilling from the concave side of the pip, but I
was concerned that when the drill exits it may well peel the chrome in that
area. I will have a think about it and report. It was a little worrying to
hear that the quality of Moss chroming is suspect. I don't want to start an
anti Moss thing, but I did just receive the brake light back unit and lens
for of the TR, I had an original Lucas lens that was NOS, and intended
replacing the copy lens with the original, however when I offered the Lucas
item to the back plate it would not fit as the re-manufactured lens had a
slightly different profile, surely it should be easy enough to retain the
correct shape when having these items re-tooled.
