Hi,

With refference to your wheels I would think that the purists would prefer
the original painted finish. I concidered the painting line of approach to
the problem of scabby wires and looked into the various paint types and zinc
rich primers. Non could give me the guarantee that they would remain rust
free.

After some further deliberation, (and the chance meeting with a guy who did
powder coating for a living), I had my TR4A wire wheels fine grit blasted
and then powder coated in silver inside and out. The result was outstanding
and looks like the original painted finish but many times the durablility.

The cost for this service in my area of UK was not as bad as I had expected,
£25 a wheel.

For UK listers the company who carried out the work was North Wales Metal
Finishing of Rhyl. (No financial interest etc). Steve Jones does an
excellent job.
