[I really wasn't going to post this to the list. Then I thought I'd post it
anyway
as a THANK YOU to some of the folks who've gone above and beyond.
So I also have to say sorry to those of you who hate this crap. <g>]

Jeff, you *know* the list is opt-in. And opt-out, too. Having set up the
web forum at TTG, you probably understand the difference between an
automated mailing list, and a moderated forum. I count at least 30 lists
that Mark offers on team.net, and it would take a team to moderate
them -- ask AOL. Frankly, I think you should probably cool off. It's an
unmoderated automated listserve; what did you expect? What
promises do you think were made to you?

Is there a price to pay? You bet; sometimes the Triumph list gets off-
topic. But you've only been on the list a year, frankly IMO you haven't
any idea how ON-topic the Triumph list usually is -- esp. compared to
most other lists*. The quality here is very high, there's little in-fighting,
and the off-topic material is usually at least relevant to the "lifestyle."
Granted, politics and religion should be avoided here -- and at the
office, at casual dinner parties, and just about everywhere else. But
I think this list does a great job of self-policing. I suppose since I'm
not on digest, it's very easy for me to delete what I think is junk, and I
easily manage and archive the posts too by creating mail folders
and moving Really Good Stuff into the appropriate folder. I can't do
that on your web site, plus if you eventually lose the will/ability to
maintain the site, what happens to the information?

Much as I really do value the technical details of your radio upgrade,
I also value the stories of Jonmac's museum visitors, or stories
of a first car long ago, or the one that got away....
