Hi all

The broken and bent stuff is now off CF28217UO and it looks like it'll
be going back on the road some time in the future. From a visual
inspection, there is very slight frame damage. The cross member where
the steering rack is bolted onto seems to have rolled forward a bit, and
the body mounting points at the very front of the frame are pushed back
and up a bit. This accounts for why the steering rack now touches the
front of the inner fenders. One torn engine mount, no shock tower
damage that I can see.

Our monthly club meeting is tomorrow night, so I'll be looking for a
couple folks in particular to get them to have a look also.

If they seem to think there is nothing major wrong with the frame, I'll
be getting those two above mentioned problems fixed. (I didn't consider
for a second doing this half-assed be just cutting the inner fenders to
allow clearance for the steering rack. I'll be fixing it correctly if
it gets done)

Both outer sills should and will be replaced, they are pretty rusty
where the outer fenders were covering them. I'll even take the back
fenders off and clean up inside those areas, strip to bare metal and
epoxy primer all around. As per Dave T's suggestion, I may even pull
the engine and get the engine bay freshened while the entire front is
off the car and access is easy. Good time to plug up one or two of
those engine leaks so the new bay isn't soiled when it goes back on the
road.

Who knows, if I go that far, it's pretty easy to just lift the body off
and have the frame completely stripped and painted, replace all those 25
year old suspension bushings, replace those non-functioning
shocks......I think I'll start Step1 of the 12 step program now.

74.5 TR6 CF28217UO (more and more likely on the mend from it's
broken nose)

P.S. My girlfriend's broken nose is almost healed as well. Still a
little tender but no more bruising or swelling.
