Since Phil has a TR6 and a negative ground system this is likely true (I
haven't tried it either). But anybody trying this with a positive ground
hook up may want to install a kill switch from the negative side of the
coil to the negative (hot) supply. (I haven't tried this either)
And since Crane hasn't seen fit to supply me with a schematic of the
internals I can not qualitatively render a professional opinion. You might
try asking the tech support line at Crane (if there is such a thing). I
would think that Crane should take a stand on this one way or the other
(considering who a large part of their maiket is).
