Joe :

I know redqueen3 personally. It's true, he is very disorganized, moves
at his own pace, and is not a very good businessperson. I don't like to
deal with him except on a "you hand me the part, I hand you the cash"
basis. But, he does have the most amazing collection of parts, mostly
NOS and rare, that I've ever seen.

However, I think I can promise that he did not deliberately attempt to
defraud you. Chances are, he has lost all record of your transaction,
including the fact you sent him a money order (whether he cashed it or
not is anybody's guess), and whatever part you agreed to buy from him.
Every time I see him (and I've bought several of his parts on eBay
lately), he talks about the customers that are POed at him, and how he
would like to make them happy, but doesn't know how. He also had
several computer crashes last year, losing all his email records. But,
like most of us, he doesn't like people that are rude to him (no matter
how well justified the rudeness), and tends to ignore rude people.

The phone number and address you have is for 'The Shop', his 'place of
business'. He is rarely there (does all his eBay selling from his
garage at home), and frequently is not in a position to answer the phone
when he is there. Last I heard, he was thinking of closing The Shop
entirely (but I doubt it will happen).

If you want, send me all the pertinent information (exactly which part
you wanted, when you sent the mail order, have you traced the mail order
to see if it's been cashed, how much was it for), and I'll try to act as
your agent. I need to go pick up a set of plug wires anyway.

Oh, BTW, you cannot "hire someone to represent me" in CA small claims
court. You must file personally, appear personally, or _you_ will lose
by default and be required to pay the costs. And, I'll bet you cannot
prove to the court's satisfaction who cashed your money order. Without
that, you have no case, and again, you pay court costs. Checks provide
much better traceability.
