Nathan, the big problem with Recaro's and other non-original
seats is height. Especially if you're a taller guy, you may find
other seats leave your line of sight even with the top of the
windshield frame. I've been in 2002's with Recaro's, real nice
seats -- but a 2002 has a driver's position more like a bus
than a Triumph. ;-) On a TR4, the steering wheel would pin your
legs if the seats were much higher than original, it's hard for me
to imagine a 'sport' seat that would fit in the place of my "sitting
on the floor" TR3-style seat.

BUT a few years ago a buddy and I installed Miata seats in
an already non-original Austin Healey bugeye. With the seats
reclined a bunch, we found our heads were at a reasonable
level -- and we had stereo speakers right by our ears. They
were no Recaros, but better than the plastic autocross seat it
came with. In any case, I'd recommend you trial fit any seat b4
you buy.
