"Truing" wire wheels

Check your neighbourhood for motorcycle shops or a good bicycle mechanic. 
These people still know how to build and true a wheel.

Obtained this bit of wisdom when I stopped at  the motorcycle shop to admire
two new XKE's. Asked the guy if business was that good? He chuckled and said
"No. the dealer sends all his new shipments here to have the wheels trued
before they are delivered."

Failing the above, you could, with a lot of patience, build a jig and do it
yourself. There were detailed instructions in one of the older Jag manuals.
Trickiest part is setting the offset but with the proper shim under the hub
when doing the initial lace-up, it can be done.
