Using Bill Piggott's latest TR book (ISBN 1901432041-1998)....as a reference.
Page 50 shows an early dash (CP series) that looks to be a honey-blonde
color...not sure what the wood veneer is, exactly. Perhaps ash? At any rate,
Piggott states, commencing with the TR5/250 the finish was matte
(non-relflective).
I sanded and refinished my 250's dash a while back. I could not really tell
what type of would it was...but it definitely was veneer.
