I've been poring over a July 1967 issue of Road & Track and found some
interesting tidbits as far as prices go.
For Instance:

Triumph TR4A: $2899
Fiat 850 Spider $1998, Coupe $1795
Volvo 1800S: $3970
Alfa Romeo GTV: $4200
DATSUN 1600 roadster $2621
Opel Rallye $2192
Cortina GT $2172
Sprite "less than 2 grand"
NSU TTS Less than $3000, NSU 1000L $1648
Sunbeam Tiger: "under $3700"
Mercedes Benz 250SL-coupe/roadster $6897
Peugeot 404 $2935

Carpet sets: TR4 & Spitfire $57.45,
Michelin X: "compact size less than $40
AMCO Centre Console for TR4A $49.95
ROBBINS top TR4A $32.50 AMCO top $59.95
ABARTH Exhaust system TR-400A (Dual) $114.50
Shop Manuals $15.50
Haan accessories: wood-rim steering wheel-$44.95; driving gloves- $10.95
HEUER CARRERA watch $89.95
Raydyot Quartz-Iodine driving or fog lamps: $16.95 each (illegal in CA)

MARKET PLACE USED CARS
1923 Alfa Romeo type RL 7510 $2000 Australian
ALLARD K3 $3000
Aston Martin DB2 $2800
1962 Facel II 2+2 $4500
1956 Ferrari 250 GT Boano Coupe $3995
1956 Pegaso Z-102 Touring ( 2 webers, 4 cam V-8, 5 speed, 6 chrome wire
wheels, Concours $5000)

And a "tip" from the Technical Correspondence column re firming up the rear
suspension on IRS TR's: "First, try using SAE-40 viscosity engine oil in
those rear shocks" ... if that doesn't satisfy you you can get a pair of
stiffer springs from Triumph. The part number is V449...

All in all quite interesting as my TR4A has apparently "depreciated" from
$2899.00 to somewhere around $10-15,000. Just wish my other hard assets had
depreciated the same way.
Cheers
Don
