Hi everyone.,

Thankyou so much for all of your help. It seems that I have fixed the problem
that the local Triumph expert could not fix. I do not know what the exact
fault was because I went through everything that everyone had suggested in an
attempt to fix it outright.

Tested Fuel pump and found 2.5psi (assumed flow/volume delivery was good)
I changed the condenser,
changed the coil,
stripped cleaned and reassembled the floatbowls,
checked for vacuum leaks between rocker cover and carbs (those hoses that come
off the rocker cover) and found that there were bad seals there.
I checked points gap, which was fine.
I adjusted static timing.
I lubricated all components of the distributor with engine oil and a few drops
of power steering fluid.

I only tested it briefly (about 10 mins) with the temp gauge showing just a
shade over 1/4 and repeated stretches of road which had previously bought out
the problem and I could not fault it!

I have never seen such a large and smooth amount of power from my engine. It
revved all the way up to 4500 where previously I have had problems and it just
kept going smoothly to the redline. Not only was the pull in revs smooth but
the power just kept on coming all the way to the redline.

Whoooaaahhh

Last night was probably the most fun I have ever had in my Triumph. Let's
hope it keeps up the performance for tomorrows rally.

Thanks everyone.

P.S> I reckon it was the coil or the condenser or vacuum leaks to the carbs at
load and high revs. Admittedly it could still be a fuel blockage that may
return but I doubt it.
