 Marty,

Hillclimbing is alive and well in eastern Pennsylvania. On April 20-21, The
Hershey Hillclimb, not run since 1970, returns. The Pennsylvania Hillclimb
Association 2002 series begins on June 1 with The Weatherly Hillclimb. Check
out the Solo 1 and hillclimb sections of both the Blue Mountain and NEPA
region SCCA web pages for general info, contacts, etc.

You should definitely check out the article at
speednation.com/hillclimb.htm
Written by Grassroots Motorsports Editorial Contributor Mike Ancas, it's a
"must read".

There are all kinds of cars at our events. Anything from 50's era British
cars to purpose-built specials. For pre-1973 cars there are several Historic
and Vintage classes. For "newer" cars, SCCA Production and Solo II classes
apply.

I don't think TRF plans to replace the autocross with a hillclimb. I got
the impression the hillclimb was to be in addition to the autocross. I hope
it happens, but I have a feeling that when Charles finds out just how much
work and money it takes to put on a hillclimb..............

I picture it as a race up a road going up the side of a mountain (go
figure)
with not much room for error. Too much right foot and off you go, big time
carnage. Any body out there done some of these that could tell me what to
expect and what kind of car prep I should plan on compared to running
  "prepared" class in SCCA?

  Thanks for the info.
