Well I thought I had a photo up of my rear panel speaker installation....
but I guess I don't.

To resolve the 'rear clearance' issue, I simply made 'donuts' that
fit the speaker diameter and were used as spacers to raise the speaker
of the rear panel, giving the desired clearance.

Sorry all.... this was a Spitfire installation... the reason I mention it
is there is only about 0.5" of clearance behind the panel before you
hit the gas tank. The lower corners afford a wee bit more space
so the 'donut standoff's' only needed to be about 1" thick. I simply covered
them with vinyl to match the panel.

I get photos up this evening if possible. Very clean installation.

I wouldn't cut them. These two triangles are "gussets" for supporting the
upper body structure. If you weaken those, you will get more flex in the
back of the car, and believe me, you don't want amy more flex there.

What many folks do to keep from hacking the body is install free standing
speakers on the parcel shelf or between the seat backs and the verticle
surface that connects the parcel shelf to the floor.

Good luck.
