Dizzy basics

Hi all,

I need to get a lesson in the basics of dizzy operation. Namely in context
of a tr3a. 
If I rotate the dizzy clockwise am I advancing the ignition?

Is there a way test to see if the advance is working correctly?

The book says the point gap is supposed to be .015" this is right?
