Water can get into gas in many ways including being present in pump gas. IE
You bought the water at your last fillup. Dump a few ounces of Methyl
alcohol into the tank.(Methyl Hydrate, Isopropanol) It will "capture" the
H2O and send it harmlessly out the exhaust pipe. Doing this occasionally is
not the same as using gasahol and won't damage your system.

just don't think I wash the car with the cap open, and don't leave it open,
Plus this has never happened before.
