Honestly that switch looks like a oil pressure switch, most likely for a GM
car. Engine oil systems are from 0 to ~ 100 PSI. Brake systems run from 0
to ~ 1300 PSI.

Usual terminal function is as follows:

The parallel terminals ( top and bottom in your photo) are open at 0 PSI and
close around 10 PSI. This typically controls a fuel pump of electric choke.

The single terminal ( on the left in your photo ) is closed at 0 PSI and
opens at ~ 2 PSI. This controls the low oil pressure light.

The triangle/ F symbol is unknown to me ( and I've installed oh so many oil
switches, could be a brand I don't use.)

A brake switch would have only 2 terminals ( ones that are open at 0 PSI)
Also every brake ( American) switch I've seen has been half the length of
yours.

Is there a chance the wrong switch was ordered or picked from the pile?
