Hello Larry, thanks for the compliment, however it
was mostly luck on my part.
While, your car is up in the air, you might want to
take a look at your rear engine gearbox mount. This
mount is composed of thick rectangular hard rubber
and is sandwiched between a lower rectangular
crossmember and upper and lower restrictor plates.
You will likely find the remnants of your remote
transmission bushings lying on the bottom of the
crossmember along with other bits of flotsam.
There used to be a problem associated with oil and
transmission fluid collecting on the rubber mount and
eventually turning the mount into a jelly-like mass.
You might take a look at this too while you're at it,
and replace it too if it has perished. It is a very easy
job to accomplish with hand tools, and it should
decrease transmission vibration and driveshaft
play.
