Another thing to keep in mind is that expectations 40 years ago were
significantly less.  Especially in the home market.  Of course the system
voltage will be down if you have everything on.  That's why they put
voltage stabilizers on the gauges! (well, TR4 at least - the TR3 gauges
were self compensating and there was only one electric gauge anyway)
