List,

I'm about ready to put the body back on my restored '67 TR4A IRS frame,
and I have several questions about body shims under the floor
pans/rocker plates (4 hole front/3 hole rear)- hopefully someone can
assist:

1. Parts books list the 1/8" metal shims 'as required'. How do you
measure what is required? What is the best way to determine if a shim
should be added/removed? What do you start with (assuming 1)?
2. I'm thinking that varying the number of shims will adjust the
door gap, but it seems like the front door gap would be controlled by
the hinges. Thus adding/removing shims would really only be needed in
the rear to make things line up? Does adding shims affect any other
body alignment areas?

TIA for any help!
