I can't tell you for sure...........but I changed mine.........and 
experienced, in my opinion, much better action and handling.......even wrote an 
article 
for Moss Moters.......about how to do it easily!........The springs cost 
somewhere between $40-50 each.........I'm a great proponent of........"While 
you're 
there......replace every thing you can...........your time is 
invaluable.........you will NEVER have it again!!!!"

I'm not sure.......but I think that after many 1,000,000's of  
bouncings.....they lose some of their elasticity.................I think that a 
spring has a 
finite life.........I don't know what it is.......but.........I think that 
over the years, they get weaker and weaker..............
