I replaced my trans hump two years ago and used some 3M stuff that I
got at a body working shop. I think that it was called "Strip Caulk" and
came in 1 foot lengths. It really worked well. It is non-hardening.

What are some effective ways to seal around the mating surfaces of the
gearbox tunnel, short of pumping in silicone sealant? I have a metal gearbox
tunnel
that was only held in place by three bolts. I've now got all the captive
nuts
cleaned out and should be able to get bolts in almost all the holes, but I
can
see that it's not water or oil tight...yet.

Thanks for the tips.
