>What are some effective ways to seal around the mating surfaces of the gearbox tunnel, >short of pumping in silicone sealant? Just before I re-attached my tunnel cover I used hardware store "butyl" (butaldehyde) and a caulking gun to put a bead along the line of bolt holes, it stays semi sticky and is fairly easy to apply, plus it provides a rubber-like layer to prevent squeaking.
