The engine was co-developed by Renault and Volvo.  It is both a Volvo AND 
Renault engine.  At least that is what I was told when I was looking for a 
Delorean.  I'm not sure however that any Renault's were sold here (you know the 
US, where else is here?-not the US is somewhere else) with that engine, and 
finding a Renault expert in the states seems like it would be difficult.  Any 
Renault or Volvo mechanic should be able to work on it, but avoid a dealer, 
find and independant shop that specializes in Volvo's or Renault's.  Dealers 
only like to work on their own brand....
