After EXACTLY 1 month in the shop and over $800 in fees, I drove my '73
TR6 home today. The mechanic has a stellar reputation, but the car
doesn't seem much better. He rebuilt both carbs, replaced both floats
and replaced the bypass valves. He assures me that the carbs are
finally drawing equally (When I took it in, the rear carb was too
lean.) But I still need to drive with the choke out.

He also adjusted the valves and replaced the clutch slave as well as a
few other things.

He told me that the front carb needs an air valve assembly... and that,
if I could locate one, he would install it for free. The car doesn't
seem to have as much power as I would expect. The car ran poorly when I
bought it. So, I can only guess at how much power it should have. It
seems to be more difficult to start than it was before the work. That
is probably just a learning curve on my part.

Does anyone know where I can get the air valve assembly? I've had no
luck so far with British Victoria, Moss, or TRF.

Any advice would be appreciated.
