Richard:

As to how it is installed, it is hard to show a picture since the tire has
to be in place to make it work (kinda like knowing if the light bulb goes
off in a refrigerator). Here is the technique I use: 1) put the wheel in
the trunk well, 2) put the large "washer" on the threaded end of the J hook,
3) thread on the wing nut so it is held onto the threaded shaft, 4) hold the
shaft of the J bolt at the top with the large washer pushed up against the
wing nut at the top of the shat, 5) lower the J bolt through the center hole
and fish around until you engage the other J hook in the bottom of the wheel
well, 6) holding the J bolt taught, start threading down the wing not so
that the large washer moves down the shaft until you have no more space
between your finger and the wheel, 7) pulling up on the J bolt by the wing
nut/shaft, pull your finger out and let the washer slide down the remaining
distance to the wheel, and 8) while still pulling up and the threaded shaft,
tighten down the wing nut until all is good and snug.

If you look at the Moss TR250/TR6 Catalog, under the TR250 body fittings
(page 103), there is a box that shows the three parts listed as 801-320,
802-325 and 801-330.

Subject: spare tire mounting

Can anyone direct me to a site or pictures of the hardware required to mount
a
spare tire in a 76 Tr6.
I cannot quite seem to get the hardware correct or the way the J bolts are
suppose to go to the crossmember.

Thanks
Crabby
