I see Doug already gave the formal definition for Rapid Prototyping.

A more simple way to say it for those outside the community is to call it
"printing a three dimensional object."

Inside the RP community "3D printing" can get all sorts of various factions
up in arms over the technicalities, but seeing how no one else in Triumph
world overlaps in to RP . . . 3D printing is probably not a bad term.

I don't believe I ever asked directly if anyone out there (on the Triumphs
list) is involved in Rapid Prototyping, but I did once ask if anyone is
involved with / associated with CAD (computer aided design) Either in
the 2D (drafting) or 3D (solid modeling) variety.

If so, please pipe up and tell me.
I'd like to talk to you.

If you want to know more about Rapid Prototyping . . . let me know, I'll
talk you ear off. (or type your eyes out as the case might be)

As a side bit of news . . . I'm sorry to say that I wrecked my TR4 the
other day.
You see there was this Mercedes driving down the road too fast .. . and I
was sitting at a stop sign and figured I better slow him down.
So I put the tough little TR4 in gear and rammed the right rear wheel of the
Mercedes as he was driving by.
If I hadn't been at a dead stop, I could have gotten a better running start
and T-Boned him real good.

Save to say all is well though.
No one was hurt.
The TR4's front is mashed up pretty well . . . but since I was barely moving
forward at the time, no real damage was done to any of the mechanical bits.

After the State Trooper wrote me a ticket for failure to yield, I pulled the
bodywork away from the front tires and drove the half mile back home.

Poor little car.
The folks of Northern VA will have to make their daily commutes with out the
entertaining sight my little TR4.
For those who may have seen it but don't know it .. . its easy to describe.
Think of a pretty Ratty TR4 with a sort of metallic army green paint job,
polished up with some scotchbrite pads.
No front bumper, fat tires on slotted aluminum wheels and flame magnets on
the hood bulge.

Yeah, it's never been show winner, but it was fun as hell to drive and
fairly reliable daily transportation.

Spent the last few nights fixing the TR6 so as to keep my fellow commuters
from being bored to death while stuck in traffic every day.

Cheers!
