I feel I need to relate one of my initial TR3A experiences. It was the
fall of 1965 and I was looking for a TR3A to purchase. After shopping a
lot of car lots I found one that appeared satisfactory. I asked to take
it to my mechanic for an inspection and the dealership agreed. My
mechanic passed it on the mechanical inspectio. Still having some time
left in the day the dealership had given me I drove to a friends to get
his opinion on the car. We drove the car a few blocks and turned around
to go back to his house. On the way I dicided to have a smoke. I
reached over and pushed in the cigarette lighter. The dashboard went up
in smoke. The dealership had the car picked up by a tow truck and my
friend gave me a ride home. A few weeks later I found my TR3A and
bought it from a private party.
