How do you test one to see if it's "weak"? Just put a multi-meter on it and
check the resistance reading and the output reading?

Ken Gillanders (proprietor of British Frame and Engine) once told me of
testing an entire case of brand new Lucas Sport coils.  Don't recall the
exact number, but a large percentage, well over half the lot, either didn't
work at all or were weak, right out of the box.

For some reason, I've never owned a Lucas Sport coil ...
