John,

I used a heavy duty paint/epoxy remover to get my brass door hardware down
to bare metal! Then 'Brasso" then soap and water, and then spray clear
finish! Worked great!

Unfortunately, the clear finish I used did not last as long as I had
expected. Oh well, I will just do it again and this time with a heavy duty
'marine' exterior clear urethane finish!

Jim

I've got some brass door hardware that is now black... I want to buff it
out
but want to remove the "clear" finish that is on it first.. I've tried
lacquer
thinner to no avail.... what will cut this stuff ??? so instead of burning
it
off with the buffer I can get right to polishing the brass ???

thanks
john
