Hi Adrian,
Let me be clear on this - I do NOT recommend running an MGB distributor on 
your TR4/4A motor UNLESS the mechanical advance weight 'springs' are re-placed 
with TR4A spec'd springs, and the 'vacuum advance' is changed to the proper 
2-6-3 model. 
Then you'll have the factory spec'd TR4A curve - not an MGB curve, which is 
very different.

My TR4A ran fine with a MGB distributor fitted. This is how it was when I 
bought the car. The advance curves may be different etc. but it does not seem 
any 
different to the correct one I now have fitted.
