... someone in an SUV follows you into a supermarket car-park to tell 
you "I used to have one of those"!   Yes, Aneka, my Acclaim, is 
attracting all the right sorts of attention...

The Jeep-driver in question also very kindly offered to let me have all 
the remaining spares he had for Acclaims, and so I have now acquired a 
number of Acclaim parts, including a pair of headlamps, a pair of rear 
light clusters, a complete steering column wiring loom (including 
stalks/switches), a second-type dashboard clock, a distributor, a washer 
bottle, a brake fluid reservoir, and various other bits and pieces, all 
"used but usable".

Very much the best bit of an otherwise miserable day. :-)
