Hi Mark:

If it can make 51000 rpm, then I suggest you may own a very rare Triumph
turbine car.

Cheers,

Mark

Subject: [TR] Dyno'd my TR4 last night

Hi,

One of the local car clubs I belong to had a tech session last night,
and members were given the chance to dyno their cars. I couldn't
resist and put my stock TR4 on the machine. It made 80.5 hp at 5l000
rpm and 93 ftlbs of torque -woo hoo!!.

My engine was rebuilt (I am not sure how well) in the mid 80s, and my
car sat from 93 - 2003. Since 2003 I have put on 7000 miles. I always
figured that I would have to have the engine rebuilt, but after the
dyno last night I started to wonder if I really need to have it
rebuilt. How do you know if your engine needs rebuilding? My car goes
through about a quart of oil every 2000 miles (not sure how much is
due to leakage and if this is excessive), my oil pressure seems good
(according to the gauge), and the engine feels strong.

-Mark
