I am ready to install the exhaust and intake manifold on my TR250 engine.
Actually, I have the exhaust manifold in place with the new gasket.
Unfortunately the gasket misses a 'good' fit by 1/8 to 3/16 of an inch in
the horizontal plane!!

Looking at a pair of the intake ports, the two outer edges of the gasket
miss covering the hole in the head by ~3/16 inch. Then in the 'center',
between the two holes, the gasket sticks into the intake air/fuel stream
~1/8 inch!

These are heavy duty gaskets with metal supporting the actual fibrous gasket
material. The metal makes for a very tough gasket, so tough that I can't
trim it out with a pocket knife!!

Has anyone experienced this poor fitting gasket??? What did you do? What are
the recommendations of the TR Folk??

TIA,

Jim
